MARVELOUS MIDDLE GRADE MONDAY
Shirley Link and the Hot Comic
By
Ben Zackheim

Ben Zackheim's volume 2 in his middle grade detective series is “Shirley Link and the Hot Comic.” This installment is fast-paced and smart. One has to work hard to keep up with Shirley Link’s masterful crime-solving. Since it's also about classic action hero comic books, it's timely; comics and comic book heroes are in the news, on TV, and in the movies. It's also about getting help when you need it.
This new case is about two mint condition comic books—The Avengers #1 and Action Comics #1, and the threat to steal them. Shirley Link figures out the clues and solves the case, but not without a very embarrassing situation. You'll want to read it yourself, so I won’t give the ending away.

This detective series by Mr. Zackheim is perfect for boys and girls who want to match wits with Shirley. Perhaps they can figure out the clues and solve the case before she does. The interplay between Shirley and her friends, Marie and Wylie, is also humorous. I also reviewed Shirley Link & The Safe Case. Readers are cordially invited to continue with Shirley in her other cases in the Shirley Link detective series. Recommended for ages 8 to 11.
