Samuel & Sophia A Tale of Two Teddies

Samuel & Sophia

A Tale of Two Teddies

by Judy Dearborn Nill

Illustrated by KC Snider

Judy Dearborn Nill’s new picture book, Samuel and Sophia, A Tale of Two Teddies, illustrated by KC Snider, is a story full of trust, loyalty, and persistence—tied together with love and hope. Samuel and Sophia are waiting in a toy store for a child to choose them and take them home to give them the love and forever home they hope for. Whenever shoppers want to separate them, the teddies cling to each other. One man purchases them for his daughter’s collection. However, Samuel is slightly deformed and the man and daughter don’t want him and put him in the discard pile. Will Samuel be rescued? Will these determined teddies get back together and find their forever home? You’ll have to read the story to find out.

KC Snider is the talented artist who brings the story to life. Through her colorful and expressive artwork, we see the world as Samuel and Sophia see it—their life in a toy store and next their life in a home that isn’t quite right. We feel their pain and their hope for a happy ending.

This story is highly recommended for children ages 6 to 8 and for teachers to use as an example of the power of persistence, of the strength that love gives us, and an example of never giving up hope for a good outcome. (Published by GuardianAngelPublishing.com)
